All Deye hybrid inverters can serve as a local control center for the Deye Smart Home IoT system. Simply install the Deye smart transmitter into the inverter’s measurement port to easily connect to Deye LoRa devices.
The communication uses a transmitter to transmit signals from Deye smart devices to Deye inverters. Communication with Deye inverters is via the LoRa protocol.
LoRa devices have shorter wake-up times and lower communication latency, ensuring instant response. In comparison, Wi-Fi devices usually take longer to wake up and may have higher communication latency due to routing data and commands through the cloud platform, Deye LoRa solution has a latency of 0.2s, Wi-Fi solution has a latency of 3-5s. Excessive latency makes it difficult for home energy systems to operate stably. If the internet is not available, the Wi-Fi device may not be able to communicate with the server. But Deye IoT devices communicate via the LoRa protocol, so these devices can continue to execute local commands.
